This was a beautiful state campground with awesome foliage. Walker pond was nice to canoe in and fish. If you bring a canoe you can paddle to the Mass Turnpike and go through a really long tunnel under the highway. My kids called it "The Tunnel of bad word". We also took a hike on one of the many trails to Carpenter rock were you have a really nice view. This campground is very close to Sturbridge Village and our intent was to visit but we just loved the campground and didn't leave. The roads are smooth for bike riding but if your have one of the sites not near the lake, there are very big hills. We definitely will be going back next fall.

This was our first trip to Horseneck Beach. I chose a site close to the water spigot and also right next to the playground. When we arrived the site was a pull-through and very unlevel. I used 4 1/2" of wood and had to drop the nose of the camper all the way to the ground. Almost all the other sites were level. I was able to hook my water hose to the spigot that was five feet away from the camper. There isn't any shade here and with the wind we weren't able to put out the awning. My kids loved the beach and riding bikes. We rode to these old bunker towers that looked like they were from WWII. My daughter liked collecting seashells and my oldest son and I went on a bike ride on the "Healthy Trail" which is about two miles one way through the dunes. At night the sky was so clear we could almost see every star. My wife saw two shooting stars and the satellites were like airplanes. We would definitely go back again.

Another year, another review. We just love going camping here and the kids had a great time. My younger brother also loved this state park with canoeing, bike riding, and the trails. We always look forward to going again next year. We will definitely be back.

We really like this campground and the person that reviewed it in August pretty much sums it up. We were here for their Halloween weekend which the kids just loved. They have a haunted hayride that my wife took the girls on. They said it was pretty scary. We have already booked a site for next year. So you could say we will definitely go back.

This is a very nice campground that's on the Otis Reservoir. The beach area is average size for a Massachusetts State Park. There are lifeguards on duty most of the time. The campsites are large but some are on hills which make it a tent only site. There is a boat ramp for the general public for use of their watercraft. The weekend we went there the ramp was closed early Saturday afternoon because the parking lot was full. There are also A.T.V. and dirt bike trails in the woods. If you have a powered watercraft or a four wheeler this is a great place to camp. We were able to hike, ride bikes, swim and fish all at one park. We would go back again but it's a long drive for a weekend, so we will hold off for now.

This park is very crowded and is very difficult to get a reservation at. The good news is that it is a clean campground and the no alcohol is strictly enforced. We saw several campsites get tickets and have the alcohol taken away. Everyone we met was nice and my wife just loves going to the beach and hanging out. Our kids also liked the beach and the really big playground. The store is really expensive but there are grocery stores nearby. We will try and make reservations for next year but will have to wait 6 months before we want to arrive to be able to make them.

Since this state campground is local for me, I was very pleasantly surprised how quiet and nice it was. There is a modern restroom with free showers and two older restrooms that were still clean. The campground sits on top of a hill from the swim area which can make it a hike for little campers. The swim area was a little muck on the bottom but my kids didn't mind. The pine trees offer good shade from the sun. There is also another state park nearby which honors the Pearl Hill camping pass for swimming. Willard Brook has a nicer swimming area but the water is a little colder. We stopped off at it on our way home. They also have camping but they only have one site that our travel trailer would fit on. We drove through it and the road through the campground is a little tight. We definitely would go back to Pearl Hill again and enjoyed our stay and it's really convenient in its location.

My family loved it and would liked to have stayed longer. Instead of having our usual campfire we went to the canal and watched the boats go by. My wife has never found a sand dollar in her life and she and my daughter found four. If your into collecting shells, star fish, or little crabs this is the place to go. We would definitely go back.

Even though the weather wasn't very cooperative, my family had a great time. The playground is great. They have a zip line that my older children loved. There were dances or entertainment almost every night (except Sunday). We were able to go on Chucky's Choo Choo and a fire engine ride during our eight nights. The lake level was really high from all the rain and a couple of sites were under water. My kids enjoyed fishing in the lake and my five year old caught his first fish. We will definitely go back and have reserved our site for next year. The snack shop isn't very expensive. My wife got a cooked lobster one night for under $10.00. Look forward to next year!!!

This is Massachusetts largest state park with 16,127 acres. The campground is small and the sites are close together. There are three levels with RV at the bottom with a bathroom, the tent sites are on the next level with a bathroom, and the three yurts are on the top level with a little bit of a walk to the bathroom. The park was very clean as it just opened up for the season. The bathrooms were also very clean. The showers (one in each bathroom for each sex) were free. The assistant at the check-in station was very pleasant and nice. He told us that the park gets busy with Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Pops) near by. My wife loved the town of Lee and everyone was very nice. The kids had a great time riding their bikes around the campground and going on hikes. Other than that there really wasn't much to do at the campground. The one thing that I can confirm about other reviews is that there is a constant hum from a power transfer substation across the street from the campground. We didn't find it that annoying.

This state campground was very nice. The sights are roomy and spread out. The roads were great for the kids to ride bikes on. There is a campers only swimming beach that was nice. The lake also was great for canoeing, kayaking as engine powered boats are not allowed. There's a wildlife viewing center, but we didn't see any animals. We did take the short hike to the fire tower and if you are brave enough to climb the steps there is a beautiful view from the top. My wife and youngest son only made it a quarter of the way up. The campground was patrolled often by a D.A.R. State Forest employee (I don't know if it was because it was a holiday weekend). Oh, they do not have a dump station as it says on Reserveamerica's web site. We would definitely go back again.

This was our second trip to this campground, and we love it. It's very clean, and the sites are nice and grassy. The fire pit was raked out before we got there. This was their Halloween weekend, and they put on a great Haunted Wagon Ride. Our kids preferred the swimming pond over the pool because they could use their inflatable boats and enjoyed paddling through the spray tree in the middle. We have already made reservations for next year. What's also nice is that all bikes have to be registered so the kids have to wear their bike helmets when riding otherwise they will lose their privilege.

This is a very nice quiet campground that unfortunately closes Labor Day. The roads are a little bumpy with roots growing up thru them. The bathrooms are usable if you don't mind sharing them with spiders. The north area is our preference because it has a small swimming area. There are canoe rentals. They do have activities for the kids at the sister campground Otter River. It is a short bike ride to Otter River. The kids loved riding their bikes, swimming, canoeing, and sailing. They do have a dump station for RV's. We really like this campground and will be back next year.

Older campground with only about 14 Camper sites and 7 tent sites. The rest are seasonals. The pond was big and had a nice beach that was open to the public. The staff seemed like they were just doing their job. Our site was cramped for our 30' travel trailer. They could have spaced the campers apart better that were their this weekend. We were put between two campers that new each other and would cut thru our site, even under our awning. There were empty sites available. This campground is very close to Canobie Lake Amusement Park which is were we spent our Saturday. This is one reason I would go back there again, but that's it.

This campground is in the rebuilding stages as the current owners has owned it for a year and a half. Talking with some of the seasonals, the owners are making it a much nicer place than what it was. There were a lot of kids for my kids to play with. The playground was easily viewable from our site so that we could keep an eye on them. It was a slow weekend and we got one of their best sites (#S10). The pool was nice and there are strict rules on it's use. Tent sites looked nice under the pine trees. I would go here again.

This is our sixth year coming here and we love it. The campground has lots to do. You can go in the pool, hot tubs(4), or in the lake. They have a skate board park that my kids like to ride their bikes at. They have five playgrounds thru out the park. They have cabin rentals as well as houses. The snack bar and store are well stocked and they have the best french fries. They even have lobster and some times clams. The reason for not a ten was there was trash in the fire pit from the previous camper that wasn't cleaned out. Will definitely be back next year.

Very Friendly Campground With Many Older Seasonal. The Owners Are A Very Nice Couple With Young Children. Store Was Small But Well Stocked. The Kids Enjoyed The Rec. Hall. The Campground's Grounds Were Very Clean. I Don't Know If It Was Due To Being Early In The Season. The Playground Was Very Big And Had Plenty Of Swings For The Kids. The Bathrooms Seemed A Little Far From The Wilderness Sites (Which Looked Very Cosy Nestled In Pine Trees). Would Definitely Go There Again.

The trees made it a little difficult to maneuver through to get to our site. I was glad we didn't get a site in the J section as they looked really cramped together with no shade. Playground was great for my kids. Rec. hall was nice. Lots of activities for the kids. The free use of the canoes, paddle boats, and row boats in the pond was one of my kids favorites. Pool was nice with plenty of seating around it (I counted 62 chairs) Lots of kids having fun and for the most part were well behaved. I would go back again as my family loved it.
